My New Best Friend’s Betrayal

Ever since he started at Code our resident K9 (Linus) employee has looked at me with a slight amount of fear in his eyes.  He’s shied away from my advances to stroke him, ducking his head out of the way at every opportunity.  

Recently he has been becoming ever more friendly. Resting his head on my lap and offering his paw to shake hands.  Me thinking I had won over his affections, I continued to engage in his new found love for me.  However, it soon became apparent that it was not me he was making friends with but the Dev team biscuits that happen to reside on my desk.  

It was only when I had a recent encounter with Linus away from my desk that my heart truly sank. A complete feeling of rejection came upon me when the affections once experience at my desk had completely been removed.

I now know I was being used in a way I never thought I would. 

Linus, you and me are finished.

    I’ve been there Branny. Stick at it, he’ll eventually forget he only likes you because you give him snacks and offer you affection at every opportunity.
